Noemi Nuti: Nice to meet You (ubu0001)

Born and raised in New York from Italian descent, Noemi Nuti is a jazz and Latin singer, harpist and composer currently residing in London.

She studied classical harp at Brunel University and improvisation and composition at Trinity College of Music in 2009 with Anita Wardell, Nia Lynn, Pete Churchill, Simon Purcell, Liam Noble, Julian Siegel, Martin Speake and Barak Schmool, graduating with an MA in Jazz Performance in 2012.

In 2008 and 2009, she performed with the Clive Powell project “Jazz Alive” and, in 2010, appeared at the London Jazz Festival alongside Norma Winstone.

A former member of the London Vocal Project led by Pete Churchill and lead singer of British Samba Band Rhythms of the City, Noemi has performed at numerous London venues, including Ronnie Scott’s, The Crazy Coqs, the 606 Club and Islington Assembly Hall, and toured the UK as well as further afield in Brazil.

Most recently, Noemi has launched her Latin influenced debut album, 'Nice to Meet You', at Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho, London. The album, released on the new independent Ubuntu Music label, has received extensive airplay on Jazz FM in 2015.

She has toured in summer 2015 with her band including a headline show at Ipswich Jazz Festival's closing night and debuted her music in New York City in July 2015.

Noemi Nuti is now focusing on developing new projects including a solo Paraguayan harp and voice project, a Brazilian jazz duo with guitarist Mario Bakuna and a collaboration project exploring the music of Milton Nascimento, bringing the best of UK jazz and Brazilian scene together.
